Instead of 911

After reading this mornings Herald, I found out something new!! Sadly, there was another robbery for an employee of Bamboo Bernies, he called 911, and there was no response from the Dutch Police. The paper states that if you get no answer from 911, dial 542-2222! So everyone, log that number into your cells - just in case, I hope you never need to use it, but it's good to know! Especially with the low season upon us!

And if you are staying on the French side and have a French cell phone or a French Land line available to you, you need to dial 17 to get the Gendarmerie for emergency (but be ready to learn how to speak French before).
French Fire Departement : 18
Medical emergency aid (Trauma Medical Team with ambulance) : 14

Again, and still about the French side, if you need a Doctor at night or during week end etc just Dial the "allo Doctor" line : 05.90.90.13.13

Kind Regards,
Philippe

Barbara - yes it was on the full online version, sounds like someone may have it out for Bamboo Bernies, or just a huge coincidence!!!

But now the problem is that if the cops know that you will all call the 542 2222 number and not 911 anymore, they will lock the 542 2222 phone in a closet to not hear it when it'll ring, and take out the "silent" 911 one again, so they will be sure they won't be disturbed by "anoying senseless" call from "reckless tourists" while they are watching TV or sleeping...grinning smileyeye rolling smileyeye popping smiley

Philippe
