Coral Shore Villas

Pelican Key, St.Maarten

Coral Shore is a cluster of pink and white villas on the water’s edge of Pelican Key. All of the villas have splendid views. Select a sea front or sea view villa. Coral Shore Villas are nestled on a coral and sand shoreline. A large sandy entrance invites you to the sea for swimming and excellent snorkeling. Our freshwater kidney-shaped pool rests in a rim of coral. Sun decks surround the pool and gently meet on the Caribbean Sea where you can lounge under sun huts or bask in the sun. Our shoreline is enhanced with special lighting. Pelicans soar over the coves and then perch on the coral. (Have you ever seen a pelican yawn?) Our gardens, more lush than any on the island, spill over with the fragrance of jasmine, sweet mints and bougainvillea. Sugar birds and the sounds of the sea bring a sense of tranquillity like no other resort on St.Maarten.

Tropical courtyards welcome you into a well-cared-for villa...comfortable...good taste...well equipped kitchens...beautifully decorated living and dining rooms...king-size bedroom and bath...plus a master suite with bath. The Villas

Ultra Seafront is a villa which is about 20 feet from the sea. To get to the pool and sea, you will follow paths through the tropical gardens. This villa has the most dramatic view from its deck (about 40 feet wide). The Ultra Seafront is finished, decorated and maintained with full attention given to "creature comforts" and detail; it is for people who will enjoy the most expansive views of the sea, the sailboats, cruise ships, rainbows and sunsets. Earlier reservations are necessary.

Private Seafront is a villa which is located about 20 feet from the sea. Again, to get to the pool and sea, you will follow paths through the gardens. The view is dramatic from the deck which is located on the water. These nicely maintained villas are quite popular.

Ultra Seaview is a villa which is about 80-100 feet from the sea and pool area. To get to the pool and sea, you will follow paths through tropical gardens. Outstanding interior design and detail, including a gourmet kitchen, distinguish this villa. Two and three bedrooms are available in Ultra Seaview.

Lush Seaview is a villa which is located 80-100 feet from the sea and pool area. To get to the sea and pool, follow paths through the tropical gardens. The view from the deck is striking, with the bougainvillea, jasmine, flowering cactus, and palms and papaya trees in the foreground framing the sea just beyond. No other villas obstruct your view.

Over the years, people have asked me how I found Coral Shore and how it all got started --- and so, a little history....

About 16 years ago, when driving down Billy Folly Road in St.Maarten, I saw some horse droppings. Since my husband loved horses, I continued along hoping to find the horse. Not far down the road a young girl was tethering her horses on a plot of land where several villas were being built. My husband rode the horses and I met and spoke with the builder. That was the easy part!

The construction seemed to take forever. Our small group of owners (no experience between us) hired a nice fellow named Frank to manage the villas. Frank kept running out of orange juice to dilute his vodka...Frank lasted just one month.

Enter Lillian...charming, capable, and looking for a new career. (Would you believe that to meet her I had to return to my home in New Jersey where she was vacationing with friends?) She was eager to start a new project and rose to the challenge with a great deal of enthusiasm.

Lillian and I loved Coral Shore in its blossoming stages; we watched the tropical gardens flourish to create the charming, graceful setting we have today. We also learned how to "do things right" and to pamper our guests, many of whom have developed long-lasting friendships, returning year after year and recommending us to their friends and families.

Coral Shore has become very busy. I believe my clients appreciate the personal service Lillian and I have given them. Now, when I see a horse on the island, I begin to remember...
